Chattanooga, TN. (Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020) – Goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu and Los Búhos put up a strong fight against one of the strongest offenses in USL League One blocking three close shots in the second half in an aggressive match against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC.
The Red Wolves got a strong start scoring the first goal of the game in the 18th minute. Los Búhos defense struggled in the first half drawing two fouls within the first 10 minutes playing up allowing Ualefi (CHA) to chip the ball over the defense with Ricardo Zacarias (CHA) taking a close shot on goal. That goal was the only shot on goal in the first 35 minutes of the match.
Tyler David (OMA) received the first yellow card of the game but was able to make aggressive plays in both the first and second half allowing the Red Wolves to take a total of 7 shots with 4 shots being on target. Los Búho’s offense was able to create a lot of opportunity taking 12 shots with 2 shots being on target. However, the Red Wolves defense had an advantage with forward Mark Hernández (CHA) making a strong comeback after missing two games this season due to injury. He made an assist in the 63rd minute allowing Tanner Dieterich (CHA) to take a one-touch shot on goal.
Coach Jay Mims and Los Búhos were hoping to make another comeback like they did against Tormenta FC last Friday. With Viader (OMA) getting injured in the 36th minute, Illal Osumanu (OMA) came out in the second half with four other subs hoping to close the match. Los Búhos were desperate to earn points with tensions rising and the Red Wolves receiving two yellow cards. Nuhu (OMA) made a huge save in the 83rd minute but the Red Wolves had time in their favor and were able to keep the ball in their possession with Los Búhos taking two shots on goal in the last two minutes of the game, having their first loss of the season. However, Omaha has an advantage leading up to their next game against the New England Revolution that is placed at 11th in the league standings.
